![]() The player can also collect Life-Up Hearts which grant three extra hit points. Mario has unlimited lives in this edition of the game and the only penalty for dying is paying up to ten coins. Mario can pick up coins throughout the game, including purple ones that are unique to each kingdom, which he can use to spend on items such as new outfits, some of which are required for completing certain objectives. Just like previously, Mario has his existing moves like wall jumping and triple jumping but this version introduces a couple of new moves like being able to throw his cap in multiple directions to attack enemies and capture objects. Instead, Bowser is assisted by four Broodals, which are evil rabbit wedding planners. Bowser’s lieutenants are absent from this edition and this means no Bowser Jr. ![]() ![]() This version focuses on Mario chasing Bowser from one kingdom to another instead of world building and the only continuity you will find from the previous games in the series is the basic premise depicting Mario as the hero, Bowser as the villain and Princess Peach as the damsel in distress. ![]()
